Novant Health is committed to Western North Carolina. We are working with the community and with local physicians to build more specialty care options so people in the region can remain close to home.
We achieved a major milestone in our commitment to extend remarkable care in Western North Carolina, receiving conditional approval from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services to build our first hospital in the area, subject to the state’s standard appeal process. Novant Health Asheville Medical Center will be a 34-bed, full-service community hospital designed to bring high quality, convenient care to residents in Asheville and beyond.
Novant Health continues to expand access to care across the region, including the recent completion of the first phase of Novant Health South Asheville Medical Park, which will provide convenient access to specialty clinics and procedural space at 1815 Hendersonville Road in Asheville. Construction is also underway on Novant Health South Slope Outpatient Surgery Center, which will expand surgical care options in the area.
From offering new services and care locations to establishing unique partnerships, we are making investments to provide more support and better access so this vibrant community can thrive.
Novant Health Asheville Medical Center
We are excited to confirm our plans to build a new community hospital in Buncombe County. Novant Health Asheville Medical Center will offer better access to high quality health care for Buncombe County. We are also excited to confirm our plans to apply for 20 additional licensed acute beds at the already approved Novant Health Asheville Medical Center. With a proven track record of building and growing community hospitals, we hope to bring compassionate care and lifesaving innovation close to home for residents of Western North Carolina.
Novant Health Asheville Medical Center will be built on a 24-acre site near the Biltmore Park Town Square shopping mall off Interstate 26. The address is 433 Long Shoals Road in Asheville.
