Supplier Diversity Registration Process

For the purpose of tracking our supplier diversity spend we have partnered with SupplierGATEWAY in the utilization of their Universal Diversity Reporting Software (UDRS). This is proprietary software licensed by SupplierGATEWAY that securely and confidentially captures supplier diversity spend data.

As with your other health information, any information shared will be kept confidential. Your care team and Novant Health are bound by laws and policies to keep your information private. If you are under 18, there are certain situations in which your parents can have access to this information in your medical record. You can also ask your care team members not to enter this information into your medical record.

A capability statement is a concise document that outlines your company’s core competencies and offers potential clients the essential details needed to help them decide on how your business can provide value to them. It is much like a professional resume. 

Novant Health does not provide certifications for diverse vendors. We recognize certifications from third party organizations and/or state/government agencies. For example: NMSDC, CVMSDC, WBENC, NVBDC, Disability:IN, NGLCC and Small Business Association.

To qualify as a diverse supplier for Novant Health a business must be Certified as being fifty-one percent (51%) owned, operated and controlled by one of the following groups: Ethnic minority-owned (Black/African American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, Alaskan Native or Pacific Islander), Woman-owned, Veteran-owned, Service-disabled veteran-owned, Disabled-owned, or LGBT-owned. Supplier Diversity is an integral component of Novant Health’s core value of diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging. We believe that an effective supplier diversity program is one that demonstrates measurable results over a variety of metrics. One of the metrics we use to track our success and ensure that our program is not just a “feel good philosophy” is our supplier diversity spend. Accurate and up-to-date diversity certifications of our suppliers allows us to successfully and effectively measure the success of our program and guides our decision-making on how to improve.

Novant Health identifies diverse vendors in the following ways: 

• We use the UDRS SupplierGATEWAY to not only track diversity spend but also search for diverse vendors whose capabilities match a current need. 
• We leverage strategic partnerships with organizations who advocate for diverse vendors (Ex. CVMSDC—Carolinas Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council) 

We leverage our BRGs (business resource groups) to foster connections
