Price Transparency
Estimating the cost of my medical procedure
At Novant Health, we want to help you focus on what’s most important: getting and staying well. An important part of that commitment is helping you understand the cost of procedures and services. That way, you have the information you need to make the most informed healthcare choices possible.
Use our online price estimator tool to understand the out-of-pocket prices associated with many of the common procedures and services we offer. If you have any questions about the price of a procedure, you can also contact our dedicated financial navigator team to help you understand these estimates and what you can expect to pay for care.
Using our price estimator tool.
Our online price estimator tool helps patients by displaying the out-of-pocket prices associated with many of the common procedures and services we offer. This is a helpful tool but please know it is not an exact, personalized cost figure. The best way to understand what you will pay for care is to work with your health insurance provider and our dedicated Financial Navigator Team.

FAQS
No Surprise Medical Bills
When you get emergency care or are treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, you are protected from balance billing. In these cases, you shouldn’t be charged more than your plan’s copayments, coinsurance and/or deductible. Download Your Rights and Protections Against Surprise Medical Bills PDF.
Good Faith Estimate
Self-pay patients and those who are not using insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any nonemergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment and hospital fees.
Make sure your healthcare provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical item or service. You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider of your choice, to provide you with this estimate before you choose to schedule the item or service.
Make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-633-4227.
Medical Center Standard Charges
Novant Health champions greater healthcare pricing transparency. As part of this commitment, we’ve made available a list of Medical Center Standard Charges for all hospital services in our system, provided in both CSV and machine-readable file formats below.
The prices listed are Novant Health hospital charges only and do not include any physician fees or other non-hospital facility charges. Charges do not reflect out-of-pocket healthcare costs determined by individual health plan design, deductibles, co-insurance, and out of pocket maximum amounts.
The comprehensive, machine-readable files below are posted to comply with federal regulations and are published in CMS' required standard template format. Due to the nature of the files, they will likely be of limited utility to any specific patient and are not intended for consumer or patient use.
Note: Updated on July 1, 2024. The medical center standard charges files are quite large and may take some extra time to download fully.
