Novant Health Pediatric Neurosurgery – Eastover allows you to easily access highly specialized brain and spine care for children. Our providers only see patients from birth through age 18; we understand both specific brain and spine conditions in children, as well as how treatments affect the lives of our patients. We work to deliver the care your child needs so they can get back to living as happily and actively as possible as possible.

Our services include:

• Removal of brain and pituitary tumors, including minimally invasive tumor removal procedures
• Removal of blood clots in the brain that have caused or could cause a stroke
• Treatment of brain aneurysms, before or after bleeding
• Placement of stents to treat brain aneurysms or narrowing blood vessels
• Procedures to address abnormal blood flow in the brain and spine (arteriovenous malformations, carotid artery disease and spinal vascular abnormalities)
• Surgery to reduce pressure on the brain (caused by Chiari malformations)
• Spine reconstruction
• Decompression of irritated nerves in the brain (trigeminal neuralgia, facial spasm)
• Surgical treatments and monitoring devices for epilepsy including stimulation of the vagus nerve; placement of frontal and temporal strips and probes for seizure monitoring; and implanting of stimulation devices (NeuoPace) to monitor and respond to brain activity
