- Care for high-risk pregnancy and delivery (such as gestational diabetes and preeclampsia)

- Newborn services, including complete pediatric services, hearing screening and a newborn nursery

Our private labor-deliver-recovery suites include all the comforts of home, such as:
- Large private bathroom
- TV
- Refrigerator
- Rockers
- Sofa bed for your partner
- Your established certified nurse midwife can assist onsite throughout your labor and delivery, or you may include your personal doula. (Doulas should register with Novant Health.)
- Alternative birthing suites — offering hydrotherapy tubs, squat bars, birthing and yoga balls — may be available for low-risk pregnancies.
In addition to daily nursing support during your hospital stay, you can access free chestfeeding services and resources, such as on-demand virtual visits, while you’re expecting and after delivery through Novant Health Breastfeeding.
Level II NICU in Mount Pleasant
When your newborn needs extra care, East Cooper Medical Center's Level II special care nursery is here to put you at ease. The only such nursery in Mount Pleasant, we provide expert medical attention tailored to your baby's needs, such as:
- Incubation
- Tube feeding
- Respiratory therapy
- Nutritional guidance
Our multi-disciplinary team of neonatal specialists will be with you every step of the way to guide and support you.
If you are discharged from the hospital before your infant is ready to leave the nursery, we invite you to stay in one of our free "Rest Easy" rooms so can still be close to baby at all times and participate in their care.
