The patient must be present for the video visit with the camera turned on. If you are a parent requesting a video visit for your child, your child must be present and on camera during the video visit.

You must be physically located in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina or Virginia to use this service. This is due to medical licensure laws and regulations. If you are not physically present in these states, you will need to seek care within the state that you are physically located.

During the video visit, please ensure that your camera and audio are turned on. You should be located in a safe and quiet location. Please ensure that the area you are in has proper lighting, so providers can adequately assess your concerns. You should not be driving or be engaged in other activities when connected with a provider for your video visit.

A request for a video visit doesn’t guarantee that a prescription will be given. Certain controlled medications may not be prescribed through virtual care. A medical provider will evaluate your condition to determine the medically necessary treatment.

Yes, your provider will be able to see notes from this appointment and will be available in your Novant Health MyChart profile.
