TytoCare video visits are only available on smartphones and tablets with the MyChart app.
Complete activation and pair the device prior to starting a video visit. To connect, you will need a secure Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz only) or personal hotspot connection.
Open your MyChart mobile app and select the Menu icon.
Select "On-Demand Video Visit."
Enter your location details and select "Confirm." (Currently, Tyto video visits are available only in North Carolina and South Carolina.)
Select "TytoCare Video Visit."
Select "Put Me In Line."
Briefly describe in a few words your reason for the visit and select "Schedule." Costs vary, depending on your insurance and co-pay.
Select "Go to eCheck-In." If you select "Not Now," you will be unable to complete your video visit.
Review and complete each page of eCheck-in. Remember to add your preferred pharmacy for the visit.
Once eCheck-in is complete, select "Submit." Wait! You’re not done yet. If you hit “finish later," you will not be able to complete your video visit.
Select "Begin Visit" and the TytoCare app will launch. You are now waiting for your provider to start the visit.
Turn on notifications and volume for both your MyChart and your Tyto apps. You will be notified when your provider is ready to see you. If you hear chimes, it means your provider is ready for you.
Please call your doctor’s office or send your provider a message on MyChart to request a scheduled Tyto video visit. Once your visit is scheduled, you will be able to access it from the appointments section of your MyChart account.
Please note: Complete your Tyto video visit on mobile or tablet for optimal experience. eCheck-In is available 3 days prior to your scheduled Tyto video visit.
30 minutes or less before your visit, sign in to your MyChart account on your mobile device or tablet.
Select "Begin Visit." If you have not already completed eCheck-In, a popup message will appear — select "Go To eCheck-In." If you hit "Not Now," you will be unable to complete your Tyto video visit.

Once eCheck-In is complete, select "Submit." Close eCheck-In to return to the appointment details page.
Once eCheck-in shows as complete, select "Begin Visit." The TytoCare app will launch. You are now waiting for your provider to start the visit.

Temperature exam
Tips for a successful exam:
Ensure the forehead, or the body part where you are taking the temperature, is free of sweat and hair.
For accuracy, make sure the patient and Tyto device have been in the same room for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Both need to be acclimated to the environment.
Point the Tyto device without making contact with the skin (no more than 2 inches).
Skin exam
Tips for a successful exam:
Focus on the area of interest by briefly pressing on the Tyto device’s LCD screen.
Position the Tyto device between 1.5 and 2 inches above the skin.
Control the image brightness using the device’s context-sensitive dropdown menu.
How to use the stethoscope
This Tyto device, with the stethoscope add-on, is used for a heart or lung exam or to measure heart rate.
Tips for a successful exam:
Place the stethoscope directly on your skin, if possible, or put it on a thin layer of clothing.
Apply enough pressure to put the stethoscope in full contact with and parallel to your skin’s surface.
Eliminate or minimize surrounding noise.
How to use the otoscope
This Tyto device, with the otoscope add-on, is used for an ear exam.
Tips for a successful exam:
Use the appropriate ear piece, called a speculum (4mm = adult; 3mm = child).
Pull ear backward and then up to straighten the ear canal.
Control image brightness using the device’s context-sensitive dropdown menu.
If necessary, use a medically approved technique to clear wax from the ear canal.
Throat exam
This Tyto device, with the tongue depressor add-on, can be used for a throat exam.
Tips for a successful exam:
Open mouth wide.
Using the tongue depressor is optional.
Control the image brightness using the device’s context-sensitive dropdown menu.
How to clean your TytoCare device
Sanitize exterior surfaces using standard 70% isopropyl alcohol wipes.
To disinfect the accessories (stethoscope, otoscope and reusables), use germicidal wipes such as PDI-Sani-Cloth bleach germicidal disposable wipes or PDI San-Cloth AF3.
