Waiting room noise level should be addressed. Both a blaring TV (mostly commercials; no one was watching), along with loud music, made for a frenetic, non-calming atmosphere. TV should not be on automatically, and only turned on if requested. Most people have phones and book options these days, which makes waiting room "entertainment" superfluous and annoying.

Dr Howell is very knowledgeable and was very informative about my concerns.

Dr. Howell took the time to discuss my health concerns and strategies for treatment. He puts you at ease and genuinely does care. Novant is not in network for my insurance this year, but I chose to pay for my annual visit to Dr. Howell because of the great care I receive.

Dr. Howell is thorough and attentive, really listens and always responds well to all my questions. He is greatly appreciated! If he isn't sure about something, he looks it up or refers me to someone else. Another person (I don't know her name) had to draw blood for my labs in the patient room since the lab was too busy. I was very impressed with her skills, as, often lab techs will have to stick me more than once or painfully gouge the needle around after it's inserted. This "substitute" person was successful on the first stick, did not have to gouge/move needle around and was able to get all 3 tubes, even though I was somewhat dehydrated for fasting for many hours prior to labs. I wish I knew her name. She is African American with long hair. She earned "gold stars" for her skills and kindness!
