My 1st visit to “my new” Neurologist. Dr Bailey is knowledgeable, personable, and experienced, and I am most happy that she has accepted me into her busy practice. I have young onset Parkinson's disease, diagnosed 16 years ago. And as MJF says, “I’m sick and tired of making lemonade”. I recently moved to the area and needed to establish care with a neurologist. After a long wait of several months for an appointment, I was eager to get in to see her Dr. Bailey has a great bedside manner. She is a superior listener; identifies and verifies my patient care expectations and explores my health care agenda efficiently using both direct and open-ended questions. And (…listen up everyone, this is important…), she actually listened and heard what I said when I was speaking! Sadly, listening beyond 30 seconds is not something that most physicians do well. Dr. Bailey’s communication style is direct, yet compassionate. She is quick to smile, which communicates to patients that she is interested in what they have to say Dr. Bailey’s professionalism, fellowship training in movement and inherited neurological disorders, and the local Parkinson’s community’s high regard and recommendation of Dr.Bailey gave me high expectations. They were all met, and I look forward to her expertise being brought to bear on this most unwelcome disease!

First of all my appointment was canceled with a call 10 minutes before I was due at the office. At my rescheduled appointment I did most of the talking and got very little feedback from Dr. Bailey. I felt she was distracted or disinterested. She just repeated that she would increase my meds and I would feel better in 2 days.

I was happy to get a clarification on my diagnosis.

Dr. Bailey listened, really listened to what myself and wife had to say, our concerns, illness journey, and our fears of the uncontrollable progression of the illness symptoms our family together are suffering with, as they impact us all in one way or another. She carefully and on a level that could be understood discussed thoroughly the changes to the medication profile and what to expect. She also assured us she was here to help and if unavailable another provider in the practice would be. We feel confident in the care plan and await the positive health outcome we reviewed.
