This was my first visit to see Dr. Carrero. My previous Novant PC for about 20 years is now on the Board and no longer seeing patients. It has been very hard to find a new PCP but I was very pleased with Dr. Carrero. She had reviewed my file before the appt and was very thorough with her questions and exam and answered all questions that I had. She has compassion as well as knowledge.

Dr. Angela M Carrero Caicedo is a breathe of fresh air in a health system that is driven by checking a bunch of ticks set by rules and payors. She asks intelligent questions and ordered the necessary tests to assess my health. What made her stand out above most is when a result came back that was concerning is she called me over the weekend to ensure I get into a specialist right away. This was the first appointment I ever had with her and I was blown away about how much she cared about me and my health journey. I would recommend her to any adult that wants to partner with their provider to improve their health.

This was my first visit with Novant and Dr. Angela Carello, and I was very impressed with her and the staff.

Dr Carrero is an exceptionally kind, empathetic, and brilliant physician who cares deeply and strives to provide the very best possible care.

It took a month to get an appointment. And the best time they could get was 3:30 pm. This means I had to fast from 6 pm the night before for at total of 21 hours. I waited 30 minutes after my weigh-in to see a Dr. I walked to the front desk to tell them they forgot I was there. They asked me to be patient. I was finally seen after feeling abandoned for 35 minutes. After waiting so long my exam was very fast compared to other times.I did not feel that I was treated with dignity or respect.

My experience with Dr Carrero has always been and is good. She is a very good doctor and I feel very comfortable asking her questions.

Dr. Carrero is an awesome physician, I’ve known her for 2 years and she was able to help direct me to a better health and I was a able to reach my goal weight and control my labs that I’ve been struggling with for 20 years+. She’s caring and supportive.

Dr. Carrero was great as well as her medical assistant. Although the front office staff was friendly, more could have been done to notice that I was sitting in the lobby area for over an hour waiting for my name to be called back. If Dr. Carrero was behind, the delay board was not updated. If I was being held in the lobby area to wait because I didn’t show up 15 minutes before my appointment (my appointment was at 9, I checked in roughly a few minutes before 9) which then delayed my check in process, I would have liked to know that I was going to be delayed in getting called back. I ended up getting called back at about 10:15 and saw Dr. Carrero at about 10:25. More transparency on my delay while I was sitting in the lobby would have been appreciated. Perhaps calling me back earlier and having me sit in an exam room and then trying to squeeze me in between on-time or early patients may have gotten me seen earlier. Instead, I was out in the lobby seeing a handful of patients arrive after me getting called in to an exam room. All the while I waited to see Dr. Carrero an hour and a half after my schedule time. While sitting in the waiting room, I highly contemplated needing to find another PCP but when I met Dr. Carrero, she changed my mind about trying to find another PCP. She was caring and showed concern. She gave me the impression that she knew my time was valuable but also knew that spending time with me in the exam room was just as important. With her, I didn’t feel like just another patient. I felt like I was her only patient.

The wait time for a scheduled appointment was unacceptable . I wasn’t seen for almost an hour after my appointment time . Walkins came and went before me . The doctor was not prepared when she walked in the room. She had my history completely wrong . I had to correct her about serious things like my recent cancer diagnosis . She was obviously very busy and just moving through the appointments. Did not feel like this is a place I want handling my health. When asked if it is always like this I was told yes by the office staff. Will be looking elsewhere for a PCP.

She actually read up on my history which is extensive, I explained what doctor took care of what problem, It was a first appointment, she worked me in, sent her message about bloodwork, picked it up immediately and adjusted my dose of medication, I cannot believe how fast Novant gets your bloodwork and messages.

Great visit with Dr Carrero. She answered all my questions provided additional information for me to try. I enjoy my visits with her she has compassion and great bedside manner.
