Pediatric Surgery

Blockages in the appendix allow bacteria to grow and lead to infection. Appendicitis often causes stomach pain, fever and nausea. Surgery is the most common treatment for appendicitis, and children often leave the hospital the same day.  

Inguinal hernias are present at birth form in the groin to cause a weakness in the abdominal wall. These types of hernias are most common in children and can be treated easily with minor surgery.

Surgery is a common treatment for gallstones in children. The procedure could be performed laparoscopically, though in some cases a larger incision may be required. Gallbladder surgeries are typically minor with a short recovery period.
