Novant Health is committed to Western North Carolina. We are working with the community and with local physicians to build more specialty care options so people in the region can remain close to home.
Over the past year, we opened Novant Health Surgical Partners and Novant Health Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, working with respected local surgeons in Asheville. We’ve also expanded urgent care services with three Novant Health-GoHealth urgent care centers in Black Mountain and Asheville.
We have committed $20 million over the next five years to further develop rural primary care as we continue addressing the needs of Western North Carolina. We have plans to open additional clinics in 2025 and construction is underway for Novant Health South Asheville Medical Plaza, a multidisciplinary medical office building at 1815 Hendersonville Road in Asheville.
From offering new services and care locations to establishing unique partnerships, we are making investments to provide more support and better access so this vibrant community can thrive.

Novant Health identifies local health and social needs vital to our communities’ well-being. We partner with local and community organizations to provide philanthropic support to address identified challenges and deliver solutions.
Each year, we offer hundreds of programs that serve patients, neighbors and some of our communities' most vulnerable citizens. In 2023, we invested over $1.6 billion in community benefits across North and South Carolina, including financial assistance, free health screenings, and support for vulnerable populations.

Better Access to Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
With the opening of Novant Health Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, expert specialty care is available closer to home. This clinic gives our neighbors in Western North Carolina state-of-the-art reconstructive and cosmetic procedures, including post-mastectomy reconstruction, skin cancer surgery, and scar revision.
